When Scrooged came out in 1988, the FCC had not yet defined the fake 555-01xx range of telephone numbers for movies and advertisements. This telephone number must have connected to someone back then. Perhaps they had Mr. Cross’s office message or something? Anyway, today 12/19/2022, it is currently listed in CNAM as a payphone. If any of you can get it, I’d be interested in hosting it. I know it’s a long shot, but did anyone reading this call it back then?
